Miriam Galea is the author-artist of the picture book Ors (bear) (Kotba Calleja, 2024). She studied English and Art at the University of Malta, furthering her studies in Drawing and Illustration in Brussels. Her writings are published in several antologies such as Antoloġija 1 by Aphroconfuso, Antoloġija 24 by Kotba Calleja and Ktieb għall-Ħruq (Book for Burning) by Inizjamed. She has also participated in a number of group exhibitions, including on the National Book Council Malta stand at the London Book Fair, at the Malta Book Festival and at R Gallery, Malta. Her artwork was published in several publications including TheTimes of Malta and the book The Third Siege of Malta by Manuel Delia. She also studied Theatre at the Drama Unit, Malta, performing with various theatre companies and founding her own theatre company Urbania in 2002. She currently lives in Brussels.
Ever noncommittal, she evades definition, in the belief that the unspoken is often truer than the explained, opting instead for a wistful, elusive dreaminess.
